Tile, Slate and Steel Roofing Across Cambridge

A busy stretch of roofing across Cambridge. Clay tile repairs, an oak framed porch roofed in slate, insulated steel roofs with solar and a renewed valley gutter.

Roofing across Cambridge, in every material

Not every week on the tools looks the same, and this set of photos shows it. Over a busy stretch our teams worked in clay tile, natural slate, concrete tile and insulated steel sheet, on everything from a period cottage to a workshop carrying solar panels.

The hipped extension roof in the main photo was retiled and fitted with a new Velux, with the customer's solar panels reinstated over bird netting once the tiles were down. On the heritage side, we hand repaired a clay plain tile roof, matching tiles rather than replacing whole slopes. A timber framed porch on a new build got natural slate, each piece cut on site to throw its decorative shadow line.

Steel, solar and the unglamorous jobs

Two buildings went under insulated box profile steel, one with a solar array mounted straight onto the sheets. Steel is quick, light and very hard wearing, and it has quietly become a favourite for workshops and outbuildings around Cambridgeshire. We also relined a failed valley gutter between two pitches in high performance felt. Nobody photographs a valley gutter for fun, but it's the kind of job that stops a living room ceiling coming down.
