Tiled Roofing in Cambridge, a Full House Re-Roof
A complete re-roof in Cambridge. Moss covered tiles stripped off and replaced with new brown concrete tiles, plus ridge, flashings, fascias and guttering.
A full re-roof in Cambridge, before and after
One photo tells this whole story. Half the roof still under forty years of moss and weathering, the other half in crisp new brown tiles. The owners had watched the old concrete tiles become porous and patchy, and rather than chase repairs every winter they asked us for a complete re-roof.
We stripped the lot back to the rafters, checked the timbers, then laid breathable membrane and new treated battens before tiling. The ridge was rebedded, the chimney flashings renewed in lead, and the roofline finished with new fascias and guttering. Before the scaffold came down the whole roof was washed off, so the family got the full effect on day one.
When is a re-roof worth it?
Concrete tiles typically last 40 to 50 years. Once they start shedding their surface and letting moss take hold, repairs become a false economy, because every fix disturbs the brittle tiles around it. A re-roof resets the clock for decades and usually lifts the value of the house too.
